Released in 2024, Prelude To Ecstasy: Acoustics And Covers expands The Last Dinner Party’s acclaimed debut album with a collection of acoustic reworkings and carefully chosen covers. The original album established the London band’s distinctive blend of baroque pop, art rock and theatrical indie, pairing Abigail Morris’ commanding vocals with dramatic arrangements, intricate melodies and an unmistakable sense of grandeur.
This limited-edition 2LP pressing is presented on transparent Amber vinyl and housed in a gatefold sleeve featuring new artwork. Released on 11 October 2024 through Island Records, the set combines the complete Prelude To Ecstasy album with acoustic versions of Caesar on a TV Screen, Sinner and My Lady of Mercy, alongside live recordings and covers including This Town Ain’t Big Enough For Both Of Us, Wicked Game and Kate Bush’s Army Dreamers.
