Radiohead - The Bends (LP)

Originally released in 1995, The Bends is the second studio album from Oxford's Radiohead and the record that transformed them from promising alternative rock newcomers into one of the defining bands of the 1990s. Produced by John Leckie, the album expands on the guitar-driven sound of Pablo Honey with greater emotional depth, richer arrangements and a more ambitious approach to songwriting. Songs including High And Dry, Fake Plastic Trees, Just and Street Spirit (Fade Out) became enduring Radiohead classics.

This 2016 reissue is pressed as a 1LP on standard black vinyl through XL Recordings and features the complete original 12-track sequence. From the opening Planet Telex through to the atmospheric Street Spirit (Fade Out), The Bends captures Radiohead at the point where their sound began to move decisively beyond conventional alternative rock, setting the stage for the experimentation that would follow on OK Computer.
