Originally released in 1992, It’s A Shame About Ray is the defining fifth studio album from The Lemonheads and one of the standout alternative-rock records of the early '90s. Led by Evan Dando, the album blends jangly guitars, punk-pop energy, folk-rock influences and bittersweet songwriting into a concise collection of melodic, emotionally open songs. Tracks including My Drug Buddy, Rudderless, Confetti and the title track capture Dando's knack for turning everyday heartbreak, youthful uncertainty and messy relationships into effortlessly catchy guitar pop.
This 30th Anniversary Edition is pressed on Green coloured vinyl as a 1LP, with a digital download card containing additional material and demos. The original 12-track album remains on the vinyl itself, while the download expands the release with Mrs. Robinson, Shakey Ground, the 1992 KCRW session of My Drug Buddy featuring Juliana Hatfield, acoustic recordings and eight demos.
