Khruangbin - The Universe Smiles Upon You II (2LP)

Released in 2025, The Universe Smiles Upon You ii is a re-recorded reinterpretation of Khruangbin's 2015 debut, created to mark its tenth anniversary. Rather than simply revisiting the original recordings, the Houston trio returned to the same family barn where the debut was conceived and re-approached the songs as the musicians they had become after a decade of touring and recording. Recorded live over three days, the sessions retain the loose, hypnotic interplay of the original while revealing subtle changes in pacing, dynamics and arrangement.

This limited Natural Milky Clear 2LP edition is pressed on coloured vinyl and housed in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves. Released through Dead Oceans in December 2025, the ten-track sequence revisits songs including Little Joe And Mary, White Gloves, People Everywhere, August Twelve and Two Fish And An Elephant, offering a fascinating second perspective on the album that established Khruangbin's signature blend of psychedelic funk, surf-rock and global influences.
