Released in 2020, Ultra Mono is the third studio album from Bristol post-punk band IDLES, following Brutalism and Joy As An Act Of Resistance. Produced by Nick Launay, Adam “Atom” Greenspan and Kenny Beats, the album pushes the band's abrasive guitars, pounding rhythms and confrontational songwriting into a more hip-hop-influenced sound. It takes aim at nationalism, toxic masculinity, class and social division while maintaining the band's emphasis on community and self-acceptance.
This Deluxe Edition vinyl pressing features the complete twelve-track album in a gatefold sleeve with a 28-page debossed Ultra Mono catalogue. Released through Partisan Records on 25 September 2020, the record includes the singles Grounds, Mr. Motivator and Model Village alongside fan favourites War, Anxiety and A Hymn.
