Released in 2006, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not is the debut studio album from Sheffield's Arctic Monkeys and one of the defining British indie-rock records of the 2000s. Produced by Jim Abbiss, the album captures the band's early sound at its most immediate, combining sharp guitar riffs, restless rhythms and Alex Turner's observational songwriting. I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor and When The Sun Goes Down became huge singles, while the album went on to win the Mercury Prize.
This 1LP edition features the complete 13-track sequence, pressed on heavyweight vinyl with a printed inner sleeve. From The View From The Afternoon and Fake Tales Of San Francisco through to Mardy Bum, From The Ritz To The Rubble and A Certain Romance, the album captures the raw energy and distinctive character that made Arctic Monkeys one of the UK's most important new bands.
