Released in 2026, Vol. 1 is the debut album from Quebec duo Angine De Poitrine, a project built around Klek and Khn de Poitrine's eccentric take on experimental rock. The pair combine driving drum grooves with intricately layered microtonal guitars, drawing from psychedelic rock, Anatolian-inspired guitar music, math rock and progressive experimentation. Their masked live performances and viral KEXP session have helped turn the duo into one of the more intriguing new names in underground rock.
This 1LP Black Vinyl edition is released through Spectacles Bonzaï and features the album's six-track sequence, including Sherpa, Tohogd, Tamebsz and Ababa Hotel. Originally released independently before receiving wider distribution, Vol. 1 is a compact but distinctive introduction to Angine De Poitrine's hypnotic, playful and decidedly unconventional approach to contemporary rock.
