Released in 2024, Cartoon Darkness is the third studio album from Melbourne punk rockers Amyl and The Sniffers. Recorded with producer Nick Launay at Foo Fighters’ Studio 606 in Los Angeles, the album sees Amy Taylor, Declan Mehrtens, Gus Romer and Bryce Wilson expanding their sound while retaining the raw energy, humour and attitude that have defined the band since their emergence from Melbourne’s pub-rock scene.
This original Cartoon Black vinyl edition was released on 25 October 2024 through B2B Records and features the album’s thirteen-track sequence, including the singles U Should Not Be Doing That and Big Dreams. Tackling themes including climate change, social media, capitalism, body image and the uncertainty of the future, Cartoon Darkness balances the band’s trademark punk ferocity with a more diverse and adventurous approach
