Released in 1990, Facelift introduced Alice In Chains with a sound that bridged the worlds of heavy metal, hard rock and the emerging Seattle grunge scene. Built around Jerry Cantrell's crushing guitar riffs and Layne Staley's unmistakable vocals, the album combines dark, brooding melodies with an unmistakable sense of weight and intensity. It established the band as one of the most distinctive voices in the early-'90s alternative landscape.
Featuring landmark tracks including Man In The Box, Sea Of Sorrow, Bleed The Freak and We Die Young, Facelift captures Alice In Chains at the beginning of their influential career.
