Originally released in 1989, Doolittle is the second studio album from Boston's Pixies and one of the most influential alternative-rock records of its era. Produced by Gil Norton, the album brought together the band's trademark quiet-loud dynamics, jagged guitars, surreal imagery and infectious melodies, moving effortlessly between abrasive punk energy and unexpectedly beautiful pop songwriting. Debaser, Wave Of Mutilation, Here Comes Your Man and Monkey Gone To Heaven remain some of the defining songs of the band's catalogue.
This 180g 1LP reissue features the complete 15-track album, with the original sequence running from the explosive Debaser through to the closing Gouge Away. The record captures the Pixies at the point where their eccentric songwriting and aggressive dynamics had fully coalesced, helping lay the groundwork for the alternative-rock explosion that followed in the 1990s.
