Originally released in 1983 alongside Monty Python's final film, The Meaning Of Life is the comedy troupe's third and final soundtrack album. Rather than a conventional soundtrack, it combines sketches, songs, dialogue and sound effects from the film, with additional material recorded specifically for the audio release. It captures the surreal, irreverent humour of Monty Python while giving several classic sequences a life beyond the screen.
Featuring favourites including Every Sperm Is Sacred, The Galaxy Song, Penis Song (Not The Noel Coward Song) and Christmas In Heaven, the album moves through the film's absurd journey from birth and education to middle age, death and the afterlife. This limited Red Vinyl reissue was released in September 2025 as a single LP.
